Bipolar Disorder is a neurobiological condition characterized by significant shifts in mood, energy, and activity levels. In our practice, we view it as a sensitivity in the body’s "internal clock" or circadian system.

The Two Poles (and the Space Between)

  • Mania/Hypomania: Periods of high energy, decreased need for sleep, racing thoughts, or heightened creativity.

  • Depression: Periods of intense fatigue, loss of interest, and physical heaviness.

  • Mixed States: The exhausting experience of feeling "tired but wired"—high energy meeting a low mood.

"Living with Bipolar Disorder can feel like navigating a world without a compass. At Mindful Wellness Associates,  we specialize in helping you find your 'even keel.' We move beyond simple symptom suppression to focus on Circadian Stability and Nervous System Regulation.

Our trauma-informed approach recognizes that the unpredictability of mood shifts can be traumatic in itself. We work with you to build a lifestyle—and a treatment plan—that protects your peace and restores your agency."
